8.21.09 – A Day To Remember at Warped Tour, Mountain View.
Nearing the end of the day, ADTR’s set was completely insane. When I got to the stage, I could have had a spot on the barrier but decided to stand away from the crowd, which turned out to be a good idea considering the two circle pits that started two minutes into the set. They opened the show with “The Downfall Of Us All” and kept the energy up for the entire duration of the set. The lead singer sounded phenomenal live and kept the crowd’s attention.

I was a little upset they didn’t play “If It Means A Lot To You” featuring Sierra Kusterbeck of VersaEmerge, because that song is my favorite off the new album Homesick. Near the end of the set, Jeremy McKinnon asked if we would rather hear “Over My Head” or “Since U Been Gone,” both cover songs—disappointingly, they played neither. A Day To Remember’s crowd consisted of loyal “dudebros” that violently …danced and crowdsurfed throughout the set. It was a good show, but the crowd was too insane for my taste.
